Way cute.

Some of you may have noticed that I have a particular interest in photography...I love the challenge of getting that great shot! For my birthday last month, my dear hubby spoiled me with a new digital SLR. I'm determined to read that manual and use this camera to its fullest! All of the photos on this blog are taken by yours truly and some are editted using this great program (free!). Click the icon (rainbow square) if you are interested. With that said here is a photo of our sixth happy blessing!

In us all...

At the beginning of the summer I revised the children's job charts- mostly added more jobs! One of Levi's jobs after supper is to match and straighten out all of the shoes on the mats. He was proud of this job, and able to achieve quite nicely. He was up there with the big kids and their jobs! Then after a few weeks, he suddenly turned into the self- appointed shoe patrol, as I caught him ordering everyone else to take their shoes off properly when they came home. We all laughed, but I did think about it later. Isn't this our constant struggle? To disregard our calling of service, and look for the easiest self-serving way? Makes me long for eternity...

Just one more...

On the left is the corner of the creepy guy's house. We were told that this is where the fire place is- under this corner, and the smoke comes out of the nostrils! It takes all kinds to make the world go round! Worth a visit though! If you are heading up that way, and want directions....give me a call.

Very Strange.

On our vacation this was a place we went to visit for a couple of hours. For those that live in Ontario, it is up by Burk's Falls. Apparently there is this retired teacher who owned 100's of acres and this is his hobby. He builds these huge stone sculptures all over his property, and he is happy to have anyone roam around and take a look. Yes, his entrance gates are spider webs, the children are jumping around on an "alter." Jacob said there was wood up there and was asking for any volunteers to be sacrificed. (ha!) And yes, it looks like ghost type creatures coming out of the ground. It was all a bit creepy, if you ask me, but interesting nevertheless. We didn't get to meet the owner- that would have been even more interesting.

Quite a job....

I look at these six.....and realize it is all of Grace. May our Heavenly Father use our feeble efforts to change these hearts for sincere service in His Kingdom. That's my prayer....

Double blessing.

These two are great friends, with this picture showing a typical private "joke" shared between them. I'm still amazed, seven years later, that God saw fit to give us these two boys. Two people that look identical (at least to most people), but are so different is personality- amazing!

This is what happened after our little photo shoot! Justin was in quite the panic, since I didn't notice right away, it was floating away rather quickly. Once they saw me laughing, it wasn't so bad....and some kind lad from the camp (who happened to be standing a few docks over), offered to jump in a get the flip-flop!

For all you...

Sitting on the dock...

We had a SUPER week at another cottage with my parents, and sister/brother-in-law and children! The beach was perfect for all of the little people, so the children pretty well lived in their bathing suits. I'm just loving this "newest" family photo. Nothing like the great outdoors to make a great photo!

More photos to come...

Needing some humility

A conversation yesterday after Bible reading:

Mom: "Levi, what did Jesus do on the boat during the storm?"

Levi: (blank look)

Mom: "What did Jesus do to the wind and the waves? What did He say?"

Levi: (blank look)

Mom: "Everyone was very scared, and Jesus commanded the storm to stop."

Levi: "Yeah." (As if he was really listening)

Mom: "And is this something that you could do? Make a storm stop?"

Levi: "Yes."

Mom: (Trying to keep a straight face) "And how would you do that?"

Levi: (Without missing a beat) "I'd just snap my fingers!"

Good one!

We're spoiled.

Well. You will not be "hearing" from me over the next week. We are off to a cottage again! Yep. This is the week that we booked in the winter with my parents and sister's family. It is a new place that we haven't been to before, so it should be fun to explore! The packing starts again....actually I didn't even UNpack some things from a couple of weeks ago.
CU!
A special hug to our friends across the ocean!

Two peas in a pod.

Actually, it was the ladybug roller-coaster. Every year, at the end of the school year our homeschool group usually has one big "fun" trip. A zoo, waterpark...something like that. This year we went to Marineland. It is a park with rides, attractions and shows centred around marine life. We has a wonderful time! This has to be one of my favourite shots....Levi just LOVED this mini roller-coaster suited just for his age group. We started the day by hitting a bunch of the larger coasters....and poor Levi just had to "wait...soon." (As a side note, the other four children have NO fear- good thing their dad AND mom are pretty fearless as well) Poor guy! When we got to this "family section"- he was going full tilt! Levi has a total daddy's boy. It was great day, and we even purchased the season's passes (for a SUPER rate), so we can go again in the September, during the week when everyone else has starting back at school!
