I picked up a couple of these at the grocery store. I thought it would be fun to try! A big mess went along with it! Everyone know what they are?

Adventures in food. (Part 1)

I was happily cooking one evening. And I had set out some dishes- and a bowl of carrots! As per usual, Gideon drags a stool to wherever the action is, and gets right involved! This was the creation I discovered when I turned around! Hilarious! He was so proud of his masterpiece! Note: He must have first taken ALL the carrots out of the bowl in order for the cutlery to then be under the carrots in this "avalanche style" sculpture.

A new 12 year old!

Jacob turned 12 on Friday, and we took the family out for a specially planned "event." The suspense was more than many of these "nosey" children could bare! Jacob was thrilled- Go-Karting! It turned out great, as we were in the middle of some other birthday parties, and the four Valks had the track to themselves. Levi was too young, but had fun playing a few arcade games...and eating bubble-gum. A great family outing! We are thankful for this young man...and pray the Lord will use his unique talents for service to bring Him glory.

Photography.

My sister and I were the wedding photographers for a wedding last week-end. What great fun we had!!! Here are just a couple of "teasers" as I wouldn't want to share toooooo much until the bride and groom are back from their honeymoon, and I get the "ok" to share some more! So....without names or faces.....here are just 4 of the over 1300 photos that we took!!

Great date!

Eric and I went on a helicopter ride over the Niagara Falls last Friday! Very cool. This was my postcard shot up the river looking back at the Falls.

The camera is posed......I had the front seat right beside the pilot! Eric was behind me sitting with a family that shared our ride.

The city.....It was only a ten minute ride, but a VERY amazing way to see the Falls....
I think I'll need to do it again sometime- without the camera in front of my face half of the time! :)

Summer days....

Levi falling asleep after a busy day in the summer sun.....waiting for supper.
Those days are coming to an end......
Oma from New Zealand and Aunt Lilly-Anne are having a wonderful visit here with our family for four weeks.
So we are enjoying the last summer days.......still a week at the cottage to come though!
Although it is a bit sad to see the summer days coming to an end, the fall colours do bring us to see more of God's glory in creation.

"Baby" Update.

It's been awhile.

And I suppose he really isn't a baby.....

Babies don't think the snack drawer is an all-day buffet.

Babies don't climb into the drawer thinking then noone will notice.

Babies don't seem to say a couple new words each day.

Babies don't love riding on tractors and riding lawn mowers (insisting on wearing the ear-muffs).

Babies don't think every piece of counter/furniture is a mountain to climb.

.......still MY baby!

And we are so blessed to have him in our family!
