Busy....busy.

These photos have nothing to do with the post, but I just can't seem to do a post without including some photos! So here you go! Jacob found this rather large praying mantis....quite cool!
Busy week....Eric is nut-so getting in hay, I'm finishing off school preparations, and starting to pack for our last week of "hooray" at the cottage and then we are back into the start of the school year. I'm looking forward to it. The children are starting to show signs that the brains need some more stimulation. I am planning "fencing" lessons for the fall, and a six week art course for Jacob and Macayla with fellow homeschoolers in the area. Should be fun! Well....I hear a baby waking up from a nap. You probably won't "hear" from me for a week or two now.
God bless...

"...Our society is far from having repudiated the privileged role parents exercise in the upbringing of their children. This role translates into a protected sphere of parental decision making which is coated in the presumption that parents should make important decisions affecting their children both because parents are more likely to appreciate the best interests of their children and because the state is ill equipped to make such decisions itself. Moreover, individuals have a deep personal interest as parents in fostering the growth of their children." ~Supreme Court of Canada, 1995~
There certainly are not enough in the "state" today that would have such a mindset. Sad. Very sad....

For all you...

lovers of baby feet! (As I am). Here you go! Nothing much new over here. Eric is busy, busy getting hay in the barn. We have had a VERY unusually wet summer. Last year, all the hay was already done by mid-June. The deck around the swimming pool is starting to take shape, so that is exciting as well. And I am in the thick of school preparations.....tootles.

This kid....

OK. It was a "normal" evening after supper, everyone was given the reminder to be off to do their appointed jobs. As you know, from a previous post, one of Levi's jobs is to match all of the shoes and line them up neatly on the mats. That is what I thought he was doing this particular night. He didn't say a word.....and this is what I discovered later that night! There's more! A few nights later, he did match all of the shoes, but placed them spread out over the laundry room. I didn't got a photo of that, because some kind sibling helped him "fix it" before I knew about it. What a laugh! Maybe I need to give him a more complicated job?

So sweet...

It is such a delight to see your children delight in each other. Well, at least most of the time! The baby can certainly do no wrong in the eyes of his siblings! That is my prayer, that these precious people will grow up to be treasured friends for each other.
