This is a clipping from one of our local (free) newspapers. We have had a VERY wet spring in this region, so the photo captured the state of many fields in the area. Eric looked out the our bedroom window and saw Levi slowly trying to have a pet of one of the calves. This was one of the rare moments that he was allowed to do this, as usually the overprotective mothers are with the babies. The mothers were let out to graze at the time, so Levi was able to "play" with the calves. Quite cute. As an aside note, I did NOT write the caption of this article....that wouldn't quite have been my word choices! At all really. BUT Levi was beyond thrilled and has a copy posted on his tack-board.
This past week, I hosted a baby (of the human kind) shower. I guess that comes with my age, but it has been awhile since I have even BEEN to a baby shower, nevermind hosting one. It was great fun! I made this diaper cake (above). Can you guess how many diapers are in it? (see below)
A highschool friend of mine posted some of these cookies on facebook, and I just HAD to commission her to make me some! Aren't they adorable! These onesies went home with the guests at the end of the evening.
This platter of cookies was on the food table. It was just soooo pretty to look at, it took a while for anyone to actually want to EAT one.
The happy mom-to-be! After many prayers over many years, we very much rejoice with our dear friends that the Lord willing they will have a baby to hold in a few weeks.
And babies of a different sort.
Back in the beginning of March, Jacob used some hard-earned money to add to his adult gecko collection. The business prospect. Breeding and selling 3 month old geckos back to the local reptile store. Business has begun...and 9 eggs are the latest count. Egg number 1,2 and 3 will be hatching soon, so my sources tell me. The red thing is NOT a rotten egg. It's a "mike n' ike", to show the size. Photo credit to Jacob, even though he is not liking the blurriness of it all. But you get the idea.
There you have it: baby cows, baby to come and well....more "babies" to come.
And......82.
Tootles.
